It’s May, which means I’m a little thankful for Buffalo giving us something new and current to keep up with here in mid-May: the boringest time in college football’s 12-month calendar year. There are mixed levels of optimism for this coaching staff + program moving forward, but why might 2021 be sloppy for the young Bulls? 14. BUFFALO STAFF BUILDING | MY MT. RUSHMORE

Buffalo, led by Maurice Linguist, is still in the rigorous process of hiring the rest of its assistant coach pool. So far Linguist has hired his first offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. We’ll transition into transfer portal woes at Buffalo, Bowling Green, and Northern Illinois, but I really am excited to tell you why Tim Tebow is in my Mt. Rushmore.

13. MAURICE LINGUIST WILL BE BUFFALO’S 26TH HEAD COACH

EPISODE 13 
Buffalo’s search for a new head coach following Lance Leipold’s departure has come to a quick, and fairly impressive, end after just a week of the job opening up. Maurice Linguist is Buffalo’s new head coach and will be formally introduced Monday. While there’s still a lot of work left for him to still do between now and the start of the upcoming football season, this doesn’t seem like it’s the kind of hire Buffalo scrambled around aimlessly for at the last minute. Linguist is a guy that has a year of NFL coaching experience under his belt, and is more than proven himself as a recruiter. Doesn’t hurt that he actually knows the area, too.

12. BULLS IN PORTAL | 16-TEAM PLAYOFF?

EPISODE 12
The biggest ongoing story in the world of MAC football right now is, of course, Lance Leipold’s transition from Buffalo to Kansas. He’s not the only one leaving of course. Leipold’s already taking a bunch of his coaches with him and some young starting players are already hitting the transfer portal. Both of those were expected to happen, but now we’re seeing who’s actually, also, going to be part of the big move. Also, how many playoff teams is actually necessary for an expansion, and when will we know that there are too many teams in a larger-than-four-team format?

11. 4 MAC GUYS DRAFTED | LANCE LEIPOLD TO KANSAS (AKA LANSAS)

EPISODE 11
Finally, the NFL Draft is over and we have actual results (not just forecasts and opinions) to discuss. Two MAC guys were taken on Day 2, and two linemen went in the fifth round to round out this year's smaller draft class, but that's sort of to be expected with the odd pandemic year throwing a wrench in a lot of regular football plans. I talk about that, but not before we hit on a couple more bits of news that have come up during draft week. One life was nearly taken away last week, but the good news is that CMU's John Keller is having his health improve after being shot in the chest at a part last week; his father recently provided an update online to say his son is off the ventilator after a week of support. Lance Leipold is now the *former* head coach at Buffalo and the *current* head coach for Kansas. That's right, he took the one FBS job that seemingly nobody else would really want to have and I cannot be any more excited for him. That's such a great opportunity for Leipold, a coach who is actually built different than the rest of his peers.

This is the second part of a two-part NFL Draft preview series that focuses entirely on the Mid-American Conference players in the draft pool. Joined with me to talk about these players is Kaleb Carter (@Kaleb_M_Carter on Twitter). I've created a 10-player "big board" so to speak, and this episode will cover the players listed at 7-10 since players listed at 1-6 were talked about in Sunday's episode. After that, we look at the rest of the players not listed and highlight a few names there.

It's NFL Draft week, which means that's literally the only thing we want to talk about this week. This is the first part of a two-part preview episode of the MAC players in this year's draft pool. Joined with me to talk about these players is Kaleb Carter (@Kaleb_M_Carter on Twitter). I've created a 10-player "big board" so-to-speak, and this episode will cover the top six players from that list. Wednesday's episode will cover the other players listed at 7-10, as well as the best of the rest.

8. POSITIONAL PREVIEWS | KENT STATE WR | EASTERN MICHIGAN QB | OHIO DB

EPISODE 8
We've got three positional previews to get to this episode!
Kent State WR: Isaiah McKoy's gone, but the Flashes still bring in an All-ACC return man from Syracuse to help fill the gap. Nykeim Johnson doesn't have the size advantage McKoy had, but that speed is dangerous.
EMU QB: Preston Hutchinson had his first season as the starter in 2020, and wasn't the most impressive (even though he scored 8 rushing TD). Ben Bryant comes in as a graduate transfer from Cincinnati, and he has the arm to contest for the starting role.
Ohio DB: Straight up, who's the playmaker out of this group? Jett Elad's probably my best pick, but who's to say?
